Setup Guide

SOCKS5 Proxy on iPhone and iPad

Connect a static SOCKS5 proxy on iOS in just a few minutes. All you need is an app with SOCKS5 support and your access credentials in the host:port:login:password format.

Where to start

What you'll need

A few things before you begin the setup.

1

Access credentials

After payment you receive a host:port:login:password string — the server address, port, and a login-password pair for SOCKS5 authentication.

2

An app from the App Store

Any SOCKS5 client for iOS (Shadowrocket, Potatso, Loon, and similar). The Wi-Fi section in the system only accepts HTTP, so a separate client is required.

3

Wi-Fi or mobile internet

The proxy works on any active connection. UDP and QUIC are supported, traffic is unlimited, and speeds reach up to 1 Gbps.

Access format

How to read your credentials

The access string consists of four parts separated by colons:

host : port : login : password
for example 203.0.113.45 : 1080 : user12 : a8Kp2qXz
  • host — the IP address or domain of your dedicated server
  • port — the port for connecting via SOCKS5
  • login and password — the pair used for authentication
Step by step

Setup in 5 steps

1

Install a SOCKS5 client

Download an app with SOCKS5 support from the App Store (for example, Shadowrocket). Open it and allow it to add a VPN profile configuration on first launch — iOS needs this to route traffic.

2

Add a new server

In the app, tap "Add Server" or the "+" icon. For the connection type, choose SOCKS5 (sometimes labeled as SOCKS5 / Socks Proxy).

3

Enter your access credentials

Fill in the fields from your string: enter host in "Address/Host", port in "Port", login in "Username", and password in "Password". Save the configuration.

4

Turn on the connection

Select the server you created and switch the main toggle to "On". A VPN profile indicator will appear in the iOS status bar — that's normal, your traffic is going through the SOCKS5 proxy.

5

Verify the connection

Open Safari and go to an IP-check service. Make sure the country and city of the rented server are shown. If the data matches — the setup is complete.

Checks and troubleshooting

If something isn't working

The IP didn't change

Make sure the main toggle is actually on and that the routing rule is set to "all traffic / global" mode. Check that host and port are entered without extra spaces.

Authentication error

Double-check login and password — they are case-sensitive. Copy the values from your access email in full to rule out a typo.

The connection keeps dropping

Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile network and turn the profile back on. UDP and QUIC support helps maintain stable performance with latency-sensitive apps.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Access is provided as host:port:login:password. This is the server address, port, and a login-password pair for authentication. You enter these four values in an app with SOCKS5 support on your iPhone or iPad.

The built-in Wi-Fi section in iOS only accepts HTTP proxies, so for the SOCKS5 protocol you use a separate client app from the App Store. Through it, the traffic of the apps you choose is routed to our proxy server.

No. You get a static dedicated IP assigned to you for the entire rental period. The address does not rotate and does not change after purchase, which is convenient for stable sessions and binding to accounts.

Open any IP-check service in Safari. If it shows the city and country of the rented server rather than your own provider, your traffic is going through the SOCKS5 proxy. We also have DNS leak protection enabled.
